Sometimes my HR domain experience resurfaces.
Today I noticed Amazon.com, formerly a star retail customer of Taleo (which is probably the dominant enterprise applicant tracking solution, and whose cost is towards the higher end of that spectrum), now uses a small to midsize business solution, ICIMs, to track its hundreds of thousands of job applicants.
I just checked Taleo’s corporate site, and noticed Amazon.com’s logo is no longer featured on their retail customers page, although at least for now that past relationship is documented on cached Google page dated September 7, 2009:
No doubt there is a very interesting back story behind that one; if you know those details, please drop me a line; and no, I won’t blog about it. :-)
